A newly built five-star luxury hotel in Shanghai aims to combine traditional luxury with modern art design. The hotel lobby is the first impression guests have upon entering, and the designers conceived a huge, flowing, non-geometric reception desk to showcase its unparalleled modern art style.

Customer needs

Ultimate aesthetics: It must achieve a complex "streamlined" three-dimensional irregular design, and the surface must be free of any seams visible to the naked eye.

Material feel: The surface should have a warm and smooth feel like jade against the skin, unlike the coldness of traditional stone, in line with the stay experience of high-end hotels.

Durable and easy to maintain: As a place used 24 hours a day, the countertop needs to be highly wear-resistant, stain-resistant, and easy to clean and maintain.

Solution

Independently developed process (hot bending technology): ShineStone utilizes its proprietary microwave high-temperature technology and German equipment to perfectly achieve complex hot bending processes on solid acrylic sheets. No matter how extreme the curvature, the material's consistency and strength are maintained.

Seamless splicing technology: Through special adhesive of the same color and fine polishing process, the overall visual "integration" of the irregularly shaped reception desk, which is several meters long, is achieved, completely eliminating seams and showing a breathtaking artistic tension.

Final effect

The final reception desk, resembling a giant, flowing sculpture, instantly captivated all guests. Its soft, warm texture greatly enhanced the check-in experience, perfectly embodying the hotel's pursuit of luxury and artistry.
